Shredded Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken
This is a great recipe for those nights you don't have much time on your hands. Basically, throw ingredients together and let the slow cooker do its magic.
To keep the fat content low, choose skinless chicken breast. This recipe calls for 2 pounds. First step: Simply place the chicken in the slow cooker.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
and pour into mixing bowl.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What really gives this recipe its special touch are
the added spices with a little brown sugar.
Measure and add these to the mixing bowl.
Thoroughly mix the ingredients.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Set on low heat
Don't touch for 3 hours.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 3 hours, it is time for the finishing touch. This is the only step that is a bit "time consuming" depending on how well shredded you like the chicken. Our family likes it pretty well shredded so I spend time get each and every piece shredded.
Take a fork and knife cutting breasts into easy to
manage chunks then take two forks and pull apart.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have the chicken how you like, place lid back on and slow cook on low another 30 to 60 minutes to ensure no pink meat remains.
Pair this with your favorite vegetables and a wholesome carb.
Our family prefers bread or rice and zucchini and broccoli.
Enjoy!
